Design

Familiar would be an understatement when comparing iPhone XS design to that of iPhone X as they look exactly the same. They have the same shape, frame and even footprint (143.6×70.9×7.7mm). It still stands as one of the best design of iPhones in that the iPhone 11 range did not deviate so much from this look. Unlike the iPhone Xs Max which was much larger and felt thicker, the smaller iPhone XS model is able to fit more comfortably into one’s hand and even have a decent curved exterior. Display

Speaker

The speaker that is placed next to the lightning port is able to fire out sound downwards and create another mood. Apple has been able to upgrade the sound speakers to be more expansive which is equally a good thing. Both speakers fire left and right depending on what is being played. The volume and clarity of music and voice are also good enough to declare that this phone can be the standalone speaker when there are no other options.

iOS 12 Performance

iPhone X, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max all share the much-described iOS 12 which is upgradable to iOS 14 and has aesthetically appealing widgets and displays along with a beautiful lock screen. Camera

It is a tough nut to crack when you get to differentiate between iPhone X’s camera and that of this phone. Both appear to be very similar and offer a dual 12MP rear sensor which includes a telephoto lens that is used for zooming and a wide-angle lens. Both cameras on the two different phones also have optical image stabilization to improve the video. The size of pixels has however been increased to create room for greater light sensitivity and low light photography.  Smart HDR has also been added to this mix.

Flipping the camera to the front will reveal a front 7MP TrueDepth camera that is two times the speed of iPhone X.
